INTERVIEW WITH ROBERT VADNEY - SEPT 2011
20 QUESTIONS:
First of all, Hi Rob, how and where are you right now?
I'm alright, been very busy (mostly with my band "Without Skin"). I'm at home in Rhodes island (Greece) now.
Describe yourself in less than 10 words, to people that don't know you?
Proud, raw, just, inflammatory, artistic, logical (but sometimes crazy).
What were you doing just before you started this interview?
Studio work and had a meeting with my band's guitarist. (shoutout to Atsidis and "Without Skin")
What's the best thing to happen to you this week so far?
A massive carbonara pizza (inc. pasta toppings).
What’s the coolest thing you recently bought for yourself?
It's illegal, so I won't mention it.
If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Home, where I am.
Have you ever been arrested and if so what for?
Yes, right after celebrating my 18th birthday, just for being on a beach that random scattered people were having sex on - as if I were a peeping pervert or something. It was after clubbing in that area and I ended up on that beach with two friends, talking, eating food, sobering up and relaxing, for f*ck's sake. Guess that's the world's way of welcoming you to adulthood.
Star Wars or Star Trek?
Hobo With A Shotgun.
Who's your favourite character from your chosen film above?
The hobo, though "The Plague" (bounty hunters) are very cool.
If you could have one super-power, what would you choose?
Mind control.
Do you have any superstitions? ie: pre-show rituals or lucky bits of clothing etc?
Not really. A pre-show "ritual" I do when I play with my band: After sound-checking, I have a smoke, sleep for 5 mins, eat very soft-boiled eggs (almost raw) and drink a bit of olive oil, very quick workout, shower/prepare, then drink warm tea with honey until my ride appears.
Would you prefer: Burger 'n' Fries or Pasta & Salad?
I'll shove the fries and the pasta inside the burger and you can keep the salad. Ok, MAYBE you can keep the salad.
What's the nerdiest thing you know?
School is cool. (pay attention kids or meet the Hobo).
Do you have any fears or phobias?
The sea, mankind, the future.
Where is the weirdest place you ever got sexual?
I'm not sure I can choose. Probably in the hallway of an apartment building. Could hear someone snoring too while we were going at it. Anyone could just walk out of their apartment at any time and see us right there completely naked. I could've gotten in a lot of trouble and arrested for that. Fun times..
What is strangest invite or gift you have received from a fan?
Strangest invite: Some dude in a club asked me to do his fiance. Strangest gift: What his fiance gave me.
How do you relax when you're not working?
Stay away from anything work-related. My iPhones and MacBooks self-destruct when I'm to be left alone.
What is your favourite alcoholic drink?
Anything that doesn't taste like crap or make me vomit.
What car do you drive at the moment?
I don't like the responsibility of being behind the wheel, so I don't drive.
Finally... What are you doing for the rest of the day?
Finish replying to a bunch of emails and tune out for the day, may stop by my Facebook page to bitch to people for a bit. Tomorrow I'll be in my studio finishing up some new music.
