On Saturday August 30th 2008, one of the midlands biggest and
most established club brands will be hosting one of the most
credible dance events to hit the island this year at the mighty
Isle of Wight Arena. During the past 3 years Classique has built
up a fanatical following of clubbers travelling to its home in
Coventry from as far afield as Bristol and Liverpool to attend
our monthly events. Classique has previously hosted an
impressive portfolio of artists from the world over in venues
including The Ministry of Sound in London and at Various
locations in ibiza.
The Club has also played host to some of the worlds most
prestigious dance music artists including Boy George, Judge
Jules, Lisa Lashes and Dave Pearce to name but a few. Last
September saw the club brand celebrate its second birthday at
the Skydome Arena in Coventry, and internationally acclaimed DJ
/ Producer Paul Oakenfold flew in from LA to join Judge Jules
and Classique founder Paul Morrell as well as a host of others
on the decks. Filling an Arena usually used as an ice skating
rink seemed a bit of a daunting task, however Saturday September
29th 2007 proved to be one of the most successful dance events
ever held within Coventry since the closure of the infamous
Eclipse, with over 2500 people in attendance.
Saturday August 30th sees Classique debut at the Isle of Wight
Arena, for what looks set to be one of our best events to date,
with a stellar lineup of artists, usually associated with far
more established club brands such as Godskitchen or Gatecrasher
on offer. Headlining this event will be possibly the biggest
household name in UK dance music, BBC Radio 1s Judge Jules, who
will visit the island as part of his ever demanding DJ schedule.
Judge Jules (Real name: Julius Oriodan) has also had a great
deal of chart success, and like Oakenfold is used to filling
stadiums rather than clubs. Jules' most notable chart success
with wife Amanda "It's my turn" is still one of the biggest
dance anthems of all time, and appears on virtually every dance
compilation released.
Second on the bill is the biggest female DJ in the world Lisa
Lashes. Lashes is a firm favorite with clubbers the world over,
and regularly works with Classique owner Paul Morrell, who has
recently remixed her new track "Zipp it". Lashes, also hailing
from Coventry is respected as one of the pioneers of UK hard
house music, and has won many awards for her talent behind the
decks. She is an iconic DJ as well as a feminist role model for
women across the globe supporting charities such as breast
cancer awareness. Lashes has been at the top of her profession
for well over a decade and has also achieved the highest chart
position ever achieved by a female disc jockey in the DJ
Magazine top 100 artists poll.
Gatecrasher resident Matt Hardwick, who maintains a fanatical
following due to his uplifting and unique sets will also appear,
to cater for the more discerning of Clubbers. Hardwick regularly
features in the DJ Magazine top 100 poll, and has played at
venues on every continent in the world.
Classique residents Paul Morrell & Andy Farley will follow Lisa
Lashes before Judge Jules takes to the decks. Morrell who has
also recently achieved top dance chart positions with his remixes
4 Strings, KKlass and London Based DJ Ariel, is rapidly becoming
one of the UKs hottest names, playing sets for Judge Jules at
his Ibiza night Judgement Sunday, and at Air in Birmingham. His
own production "Lights Out" was also featured as Judge Jules
"Tried and Tested" record on his BBC Radio 1 show 4 weeks in a
row. Andy Farley remains one of the leading names in UK hard
dance & is often hailed as the King of the hard dance Genre.
Andy has also remixed albums for Sundissential, Tidy & Frantic.
These headliners will also be joined by Gavyn Mytchel resident
dj at the infamous
Gallery at Ministry of Sound. Along with up & coming classique
favourite Mark Walker.
The event begins at 9:00pm and we are expecting a capacity
crowd,
so ticket purchase is advisable well in advance.
The event finishes at 6:00am.
